Gratitude Destroys the Enemy's Work

This week as we all celebrate Thanksgiving, I was reminded of the importance of gratitude in relation to our deliverance and ongoing freedom walk with Jesus. I have seen over and over in deliverance sessions when the attitude and heart of the person shifts to a place of gratitude the enemy seems to just melt away.

Let’s take a look at a few scriptures:

Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. 1 Thessalonians 5:18

We know that the enemy has access to us when we are outside of the will of God in our lives. Gratitude keeps us in the perfect will of God and fortifies us against the enemy. Are there areas in your life where gratitude may be lacking? Thankfully, we can quickly repent, realign with the Lord (His word) in this area, and cast out any spirits of ungratefulness.

This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm 118:24

Even if the day seems to be the worst day of your life, remember that it was made by the Lord. The Lord is fully good…ALL THE TIME. Look for His goodness in your day. It’s there. I promise. Many times, it is a matter of shifting our perspective and identifying the things that are keeping us from seeing His goodness and deal with them. The enemy works hard to get us to only focus on the bad or negative in our lives, but God’s goodness is always present. Sometimes we just have to be intentional on focusing on His goodness in the chaos around us.

Therefore let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, and thus let us offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence and awe, for our God is a consuming fire. Hebrews 12:28-29

This verse should do it right here. If everything around us is crumbling to the ground, we can give thanks that we are a part of a kingdom that cannot be shaken. Those that have been set free from the kingdoms of the enemy, know this unshakeable kingdom of God can very tangibly be built on the inside of us. We can walk through the most troubling of times with the steadiness of knowing deep down in the pits of our being that we cannot be shaken because fear, anxiety, nightmares, anger, despair, hopelessness, depression, addiction, confusion, doubt, and so on…no longer have a hold on us. I have been in sessions where the very real all-consuming fire of God burned up all the evil works of the enemy and the evil works of people set to do harm. Did you know that you have the authority to release the all-consuming fire of God?  Do you have the unshakeable kingdom of God built up strong in you? It this is something you desire, I want to help you get there.

I will forever sing His praises and rejoice in the unshakeable kingdom of God that can be built strong in us which fortifies us from every work of the enemy, keeping us in a place of peace, and allowing us to love and receive love unhindered.
